What Can Osteopathic Treatment do for me?
· Have you injured yourself, and want help and advice to recover?
· Have you had pain for a long time, which just won’t go?
· Do you have a health condition that causes you pain?
· Do you have a relative, young or old, who is upset or in pain?
· Is your pain leaving you with little energy for the things you really want to do?
Osteopathic treatment can help. I try to help you to feel better with various techniques, and help you understand why you are in pain, and what you can do to manage it yourself.
Osteopaths are primarily concerned with your musculoskeletal system – bones, muscles, joints, ligaments. We recognise that pain can be due to many reasons, some physical (ankle sprain, for example), some disease-based (arthritis conditions, for example) and sometimes psychological (stress can magnify pain, for example). Laura will ask you to share your health history and listen carefully to how you describe your pain or discomfort. She will look at how you move and what happens when you move in certain ways. If osteopathic treatment might help, Laura will explain how. If she thinks you are better treated by another healthcare professional, she will explain, and if needed, write a letter outlining her reasoning, for you to give to your GP.
