What is Osteopathy treatment?
Most typically, an osteopath will treat you with their hands, using techniques such as exercises, stretching, massage or short sharp movements over joints, informally called ‘clicks’ for short, and other techniques, for example: taping, needling, ultrasound, TENS, education about pain management. Laura will work with you to create a personal treatment plan, tailored to what you need and agree to. This may be one single treatment, or it may be a short course of regular appointments, or longer-term regular treatments to help with your own management. Osteopathy takes a collaborative approach to your treatment, where you and the osteopath are equal partners in shaping what happens. You provide the expertise in what is important to you during your treatment, and the osteopath provides the expertise in pain management techniques.
